What distinguishes one company from another these days? It is the general conditions in the workplace and additional benefits which make the difference. The Greiner Group places particular importance on training and professional development, social responsibility and humanity.
People come first! This maxim is put into practice every day at Greiner. Greiner has responsible and self-aware employees, who actively participate in the further development of the company. Greiner therefore believes that it has a commitment to employees to offer the general conditions required for individual training and professional development.
As a result of the Greiner Group's strong focus on diversification, innovation and internationalization, training and professional development is extremely important. Due to its organizational structure, the Group provides an ideal opportunity to develop in various sectors. With institutions such as GIT (Greiner Industrial Training) and the Greiner Academy, as well as cooperation programs with universities, colleges and the KTLA (Krems Valley Technical Training Academy), the Group offers its employees in all areas of the Austrian plastics industry high-quality training and professional development opportunities.
Cooperation with educational institutions and close contact with school pupils and students is particularly important to Greiner. This creates important contacts with potential employees. Each year topics and projects are defined, which are given to school pupils and students to be developed in seminars and as part of scientific work.
Greiner next.generation (www.greiner-gng.com) is an organization which aims to attract young people to apprenticeship professions at Greiner. Through close cooperation with principals and teachers, informative measures are developed for specific target groups. The main emphasis is using active communication to show the students the apprenticeship professions, such as plastics technician, and the opportunities for development.
The Greiner Group companies are currently training more than 130 apprentices in Austria in the professions of production technician, electrical equipment technician, plastics technician, tool-making engineer and industrial manager. The companies of the Greiner Group take on more than 30 young people per year as apprentices. Greiner Group companies are also partners of the KTLA (Krems Valley Technical Training Academy), a school in which the apprenticeship is combined with a Higher Technical Institute course including a leaving certificate.
An apprenticeship at Greiner is very comprehensive. In addition to basic training, the social skills of the trainees are supported via a special training program. This includes issues such as teamwork, proper money management, presentation skills, safety awareness when working with plastics, and not least an awareness of their own health.
The GIT is the Greiner training workshop and is the central hub for all apprentices during the training period. From their very first day, the innovation and creativity of the young people is encouraged. From the second year of the apprenticeship, training continues in the core businesses. In addition, Greiner places great importance on additional training work that goes beyond the job description.
A good education alone is usually no longer enough to get a good start in the world of work. Gaining work experience during education makes it easier to start your professional life.
Every year, Greiner Group companies offer internships to school pupils and students. The areas of work range from working in production/the technical division, through to working on projects in the administrative division. When awarding internship places, attention is paid to the career of the interns to ensure, on the one hand, that they are used in the best way in the company and, on the other hand, to win them over for the company in the long-term.

With the Junior Trainee Program Greiner offers graduates the opportunity to gain experience in several divisions of the Group over 18 months, and this will also include foreign locations due to the international nature of the Group. In addition, each trainee gets an individually tailored training program with training on the plastics industry for optimum development within the company.
After an induction phase in the Group headquarters at Kremsmünster, the focus is on involvement in the operative business of the specialist divisions, above all at foreign locations, and on supporting the division and project managers. The trainees gradually take on responsibility for sub-projects or special tasks. Once they have completed the program, each trainee can expect to be assigned a specialist position, with a high degree of individual responsibility, preferably in a foreign location. They can expect to undertake their first management role in the short to medium term.

Applications are like a business card. They must include the most important information about the applicant and his or her career in a short and succinct manner, and show a bit of character.
The covering letter and the impression given during the interview, alongside qualifications, are the most significant criteria for getting a new job.
Tell us, genuinely and credibly, and on no more than one page, why you are the right candidate for the job. Show that you have understood what qualifications we expect. Make a connection between the specified requirements and your qualifications or prior experience.
Upload your covering letter, résumé and references using the online application form (for a specific job or as a speculative application).
Summarize the following information briefly and succinctly:
Include employment references and the certificate for your highest qualification.
Clothes make the man! Do not come to the interview in sportswear or leisure clothes. Dress appropriately for the position for which you are applying. Show your interviewer the necessary respect, for example, do not interrupt the interviewer. Make an active contribution to the interview by asking questions and trying to find out as much as possible about the company and the position. Ask if there is something that you do not understand.
Creativity and innovation are obvious factors in success for Greiner. Only people who are committed to life-long learning will be able to stand out in the market in Austria and also be more successful than others in difficult times. The Greiner Academy is a cross-divisional facility that prepares (up-and-coming) executives for new challenges. An important building block in this is promoting creativity and innovation.
In addition to numerous subject-specific courses, there are following priority programs which are the heart of the Greiner Academy's training and education program, namely the Business Basic and Business Advanced Program and the General Management Program (in cooperation with LIMAK Business School).
The Greiner Group places great importance on making work and family life compatible with each other. Children of employees have had their own crèche at the Kremsmünster location in Austria since 2003. Since the expansion of the crèche in 2011, there are now 24 places which are available both to the children of Greiner employees at the location in Kremsmünster and to children not connected with the company.
Further information about childcare at Greiner can be found on the crèche website (in German only).
