Greiner Holding AG and Greiner Bio-One International AG are family owned and have been so now for five generations. The proprietors (family members) have been represented by the Board of Family Shareholders since June 2010.

This body comprises five family members and Axel Greiner was voted chairman. In addition to internal family issues, the Board of Family Shareholders concentrates on maintaining the guidelines of Greiner corporate philosophy and policy as also on the continuation of a stable business activity. This body bundles the interests of the family in the Group management bodies and communicates the concerns of the management bodies to the proprietors.
